Each year, Cedar Rapids Daybreak Rotary produces the Great Eastern Iowa Duck Race: a community-wide, family-friendly, affordable and fun event for eastern Iowa organizations that help children and families. It's run entirely by volunteers and patterned after a beloved duck race held in our community in the 1990s.

In 2026, the race benefited Kids First Law Center, the Jon Cushing Sunshine Fund, the Legacy for Learning college scholarship fund and the Daybreak Rotary International Fund. These groups teach kids citizenship, character, a healthy lifestyle and service to others. Every duck you adopt helps them do it.
