Got questions? We've got answers.
The Kiwanis Incredible Duck Splash (the "KIDS") is produced by the Kiwanis Club of Glendale and the Glendale Kiwanis Foundation. Most folks call it a "Duck Race": yellow rubber ducks "race" to a finish line to earn great prizes for their "adoptive" owners, matched by a unique number on a tag on the bottom of each duck.
The date for the next Duck Splash is coming soon, so check back here! The 2026 Duck Splash was held at beautiful Verdugo Park in Glendale on May 2nd.
Click "Adopt a Duck" on our homepage, pick a package and check out online. One duck is $5, a Quack Pack of 5 is $25, a Family of 20 is $100 and a Flock of 50 is $250. Every duck gets its own number.
Nope! When you adopt a duck, you're backing a numbered rubber duck in the race. The ducks stay with the Producers, and if your number crosses the finish line first, you win.
Light rain won't stop the ducks! In the case of severe weather, the event may be postponed. Check our website and social media for updates if weather looks questionable.
All net proceeds go back into the community to help those in need, primarily children and youth in Glendale and neighboring cities throughout Los Angeles County. More than $1,500,000 has gone back into the community so far. Not bad for a flock of little rubber duckies!
The participating nonprofit organizations are our Duck Buddies, listed on the Teams page. If you adopt through a Duck Buddy team, the team will receive at least 50% of your adoption. The top 3 Duck Buddy teams will receive more, so adopt for your favorite team and help them help the community too!
Absolutely! The more ducks you adopt, the better your chances of winning. Grab a Quack Pack, a Family or a whole Flock.
Winners are contacted via the email address provided during adoption, and the winners will be listed on the website no later than 24 hours following the race. Positive identification and a properly completed IRS form W-9 are required to claim any prize over $600.
Nope! Prizes will be given or mailed to the winners, who are responsible for all associated taxes.
Race day adoptions are subject to the availability of ducks. If race day entries outnumber the ducks still available, those entrants will not be eligible to win any prizes, so adopt early!
Because prizes are awarded, entries are not considered tax deductible by the IRS unless the winning adopter designates a qualified nonprofit to be the prize recipient rather than the adopter.
