Got questions? We've got answers.
The CAC Duck Race is a family friendly community fundraiser benefiting Community Assistance Center. Thousands of rubber ducks in cool sunglasses race to the finish line to win quack-tacular prizes for their adopters.
Click the Adopt a Duck button, pick a package and check out. Adoptions also come in by mail, at Duck Race booths and through sponsoring businesses, and every one goes into our E-Quack database.
Rubber ducks, silly! Sorry, you do not get to keep your duck. After the race, all of the ducks are flown to their next race somewhere in the U.S.
Community Assistance Center may cancel, postpone or reschedule the race because of bad weather or other circumstances beyond its control. Watch this website for updates.
All proceeds benefit Community Assistance Center (CAC), a 501(c)(3) charity. CAC provides immediate basic needs help with food, clothing, utilities, rent and mortgage payments, prescriptions, ID restoration, homeless care kits and disaster recovery, plus long term case management, for residents throughout Montgomery County who are facing financial hardship.
Absolutely! Every duck is its own chance to win, so adopt as many as you like. Just remember that one person can win only one prize per race.
CAC announces winner names live at the race and contacts winners using the information provided with the adoption. You do not need to be there to win. Winners are also posted on this website, the CAC website and CAC social media after the race.
Let's tag! A few days before the race, volunteers place numbered tags on the bottom of every rubber Race Duck. Every adopted duck will be in the water on race day.
Tag numbers are not available until the confidential, computerized Mix Report is run moments before the race. Tag numbers are not given out to adopters because of the volume of the race, so volunteer judges confirm the winners on race day.
Every adoption goes into our E-Quack database, whether it comes in online, by mail, at a Duck Race booth or through a sponsoring business. E-Quack shuffles the tag numbers and matches them to adopters, so if you adopt 5 ducks, your name appears next to 5 different tag numbers.
If all of the ducks have not been adopted by race day, the remaining ducks will be available on this website until shortly before the race starts. Don't miss your chance to win a fabulous prize!
Teams rally friends, coworkers or clubs to adopt ducks together toward a team goal. Use the Start a Team button to get your crew in the race, then share your team page and watch your flock climb the leaderboard.
Race day details are coming soon. Check back here for the date, time and location.
