All proceeds from the Dream City Duck Derby presented by Arlington Sunrise Rotary are used to impact our community for the better! The Arlington Sunrise Rotary supports over 1400 students and 100 Staff members at Anderson and Thornton Elementary in the Arlington Independent School District with supplies, materials and resources to ensure they have the tools for success. In addition, they actively support PhasedIn, Mission Arlington, Young Life Arlington, Rise Against Hunger, Nehemiah Builds, Angel Flight, 10-7 Outdoors and Rotary International Costa Rica Project, among other community needs as they arise. These proceeds directly impact the ability to support and serve these programs effectively.
Everyone who adopts a duck, is entered into what we call E-Quack, a database that stores all of the duck data. Next, to your name in E-Quack is the number of ducks you have adopted. E-Quack then shuffles all the ducks randomly, automatically assigns your duck tag numbers. Every Duck gets a tag!
We will drop 5,000 ducks at Dream City Duck Derby! Each Duck will have its personalized tag on it, so it is clearly identified as it crosses the finish line!
Tag numbers are randomly assigned by E-Quack. To ensure there are no unfair advantages and the integrity of our race, Duck Tag Numbers are not released to the public. Rest assured, however, that all the ducks you have adopted will be in the water.
If all our ducks have not been adopted by race day, it means that a lucky adopter can still adopt up to an hour prior to the race.
The Dream City Duck Derby presented by Arlington Sunrise Rotary will take place on April 26, 2025 at Randol Mill Park Aquatic Center. A total of 5,000 will be launched into the lazy river at approximately 12:30 pm.
Arlington Sunrise Rotary will contact you using the information you provided with your duck adoption. You do not need to be present to win.

Anyone! However, you must be at least 18 years old to adopt a duck.
No. After you adopt your duck the Arlington Sunrise Rotary Duck Race team will work hard to train, coach, and make sure each one is ready for the Dream City Duck Race. After the race, all of the ducks will fly off to their next race somewhere in the US.
No, the winner does not need to be present to win. We do hope you will join us for the festivities though!
If all our 5,000 have not been adopted as one hour prior to Drop Time, the remaining ducks will be available for adoption on race day at the onsite adoption booth at the Dream City Duck Derby.
